You're probably right. :P I'm struggling to adjust my fanon to fit actual canon Dean.
To me, he would buy as much meat as he could and then things to go with the meat. But I could totally be wrong. :)
excuse the edit, I just noticed your blues brothers icon. I got this awesome Tabasco cookbook where it's all the favorite tabasco recipes of famous blues musicians, and Elwood (in character) is interviewed. The recipe is given for the chicken sandwich that bears his name at Dan Ackroyd's chain of restaurants... but Elwood says the sandwich is way more elaborate than what he would make, and also, that he would have to catch the chicken, which is apropos. :D
.... I also think, re Dean, that he would have a strong impulse to spend his food money on goodies... but I think he would quickly learn the consequences. Unless he wants to eat canned ravioli and Lucky charms all week (I don't think even Dean could stand that!) the only way he can do that is by varying what he buys... not necessarily to be conscientious, but because he is easily bored. ... though I do think the milk, peanut butter, and bananas, might be John's voice in his ear.... and I imagine pastor Jim asking him to chop the broccoli (which is always a fun chore). :)
