My favorite thing about how this piece turned out -- you know, how the language can lead where the author doesn't even plan -- is at the end, when the lions of Sammy's rage come around to keep watch over Dean with their golden eyes. So anybody from here on out who threatens Dean might get more than they bargain for!!
Oh, I loved that, too! I was too tired last night to do an in-depth review, but I *adored* that imagery. By taming his own rage, Sam tamed the lions of wrath and turned them from killers to guardians. Tiger, tiger, burning bright ... ;-)
Also? LOVE your Old Testament imagery. Some of the most gorgeous poetical imagery in existance can be found, IMHO, in the King James and other older versions of Gospel. Your use of it all, from the pool of purification to the lions and evil things of shadow was simply wonderful. I am so pleased to find pieces like this that go beyond simple fan fiction to become a creation of thought-art. :-)

Thank you again!
