Favourite M/F couples of 2014: I haven't really shipped any m/f super hard this year.   The couples I root for are, in no particular order, Clint/Natasha ( I don't understand Clint/Phil, if anyone wants to link me to a ship manifesto, please do), Fitz/Simmons (they are too precious, I just want to smish them to bits); Tony/Pepper (Tony is a WRECK but Pepper makes him so much better, she loves him so much despite how annoying he can be); Andy/April (they are just so adorbs! on Parks and Rec); hmmm and I guess I have to admit I've been over on AO3 reading stories post Prometheus movie about the android David 8 and the survivor Elizabeth. Androids are my bulletproof thing.
Favourite F/F couples of 2014: well, I really like the mentorship between Melinda and Skye on Agents of Shield.  I love on SPN that Jody Mills and Donna Hanscum met up and are friends now!  I love the friendship between Leslie Knope and Beautiful Nurse Ann on Parks and Rec.  :) My favorite romantic ship is Charlie Bradbury/Dorothy Baum and whatever they are getting up to in Oz right now, possibly with Ozma.  :D  ow, just got bitten by a plot bunny!!
Favourite M/M couples of 2014: ahem, yes, I am a slash girl.  Bucky/Steve!!! all the Bucky/Steve!
Favourite 3 or moresomes of 2014: Bucky/Steve/Peggy; Jack/Rose/Doctor
Favourite Crossover couples of 2014: I didn't get into any crossovers this year... hm... you know what would be awesome though? Vampire!Tom Hiddleston from Only Lovers Left Alive slash Curtis Everett from Snowpiercer.  Ah, yes, the ancient gloomy vampire finds the one-armed Curtis bleeding out in the snow and drags him to safety (I imagine that his wife, Vampire!Tilda, stays away after Curtis mistakes her for Mason!)  They would be really good for one another.  Plus eventually Vampire!Tilda would turn up and reveal that Gilliam is her really her best friend Kit and he is still alive because he is miraculously a Time Lord!  :D  Casting is so incestuous these days....  :D
Fandom that you never expected to get into: Captain America!  wow, did I never expect that.  Used to be if Cap was on the cover, that was the book I did NOT care about.  that's me shown.
Most recent fandom of 2014: Parks and Rec.  I'm not actually in the fandom, but we started watching the seasons on DVD and really like it.  I am slow to warm to it, but the characters are fun and the show is so sweet compared to so many sitcoms today that are based on people being snappish and mean.
Favorite Actors of 2014: Scarlett Johansson; Tilda Swinton; Tom Hiddleston; Martin Freeman; Benedict Cumberbatch; Chris Evans; Sebastian Stan; Anthony Mackie; Michael Fassbender; Chris Pratt; and as always, the entire cast of SUPERNATURAL, especially Jared, Jensen, and Misha, who are THE BEST.
Songs I got Fannish About in 2014: Troubleman by Marvin Gaye; the Winter Soldier theme by Not-Hugh Henry Jackman; music from the 1930s including Django Reinhardt, Betty Boop, etc;  I can't Keep it Inside sung by Benedict Cumberbatch; I See Fire by Ed Sheeran; I'm Up all Night to Get Loki bu Daft Punk;  Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas sung by Jensen Ackles on Jason Manns' album Christmas with Friends.  Jared sounds cute too!  Plus: Come With Me Now, by Kongos (SPN); Do I Wanna Know, by Arctic Monkeys; and Radioactive by Imagine Dragons (Bucky!).

In other news, a very pissy Loki arrived in the mail yesterday. I wasn't sure whether to let him out of the bag or not, but in the end, he came to my party and quietly observed the proceedings without causing very much mischief (as far as I know).

I'd like to read a shipping manifesto for Clint/Coulson in order to at least see what it's based on, if anything... I understand why folks ship Darcy Lewis with everyone on earth, because she is fun and beautiful, and that can also be said of both Clint and Coulson, but I don't see why people ship them specifically, and so hard! I also personally don't buy Steve/Tony -- but I guess the way they grit against each other, and the sparks that fly, works for a lot of people.

the thing i never could understand about clint/coulson is that people started shipping them after thor, in which clint has like four lines and five minutes total of screen time. but folks spun this relationship out of nothing. maybe that's why they ship it so hard? because there's so little to go on, they can just make everything up.

i don't buy steve/tony either. i don't think steve is the kind of guy to want to get involved with someone who rubs him the wrong way like tony does.

When Hawkeye first showed up in Thor I was so confused. There must've been stuff on the cutting room floor that we didn't get to see. Missing scenes on the DVD?

There is also the aspect that there are certain canon (Het) relationships that people can either take or leave. For me, I am very happy with the small hints of Clint/Natasha that canon has allowed. If someone like Natasha is walking around wearing personal jewelry that seems significant -- though perhaps she is engaged in complicated spy positioning -- I only THINK I know what that arrow necklace means!! or, I am probably thinking exactly what Natasha WANTS me to think. :D

With Tony, I get his heart of gold -- so there is some interesting tension to explore with him and romantic relationships, outside of Pepper, who for me is non-negotiable. I could see him extending an invitation to his bedroom to Steve just because that is how socially awkward Tony actually is. "Spangles! Your floor in my Tower is getting dusty. No it isn't, I have bots for that. Thought we should set up a playdate. Meaning sex. I'm sexting you. Pepper's aware." ... I feel like Pepper would not be comfortable with Tony sleeping with just anyone... he has a bad track record with that... but I think it could be something they negotiate. (Especially with Bruce!) Pepper's motivations in allowing Tony to add Steve to The List would be complex I think, should it occur. One could write a whole story opening with that text with Steve fuming and trying to process it for like 72 hours.
