ps, I bet you and your rock partner could have an awesome time pondering the copyright issues involved in Sammy's song, which uses all straightup garageband riffs and at least a couple of lines direct from Show. Oh well, no money is being made anyways!! :)

OMG that gets sooo confusing. It changes constantly too. Back in the 90s when I got my first Korg the rule was something like - you can't use any of their preset sounds, but you can use any of them if you've modified them sufficiently (wave-form, etc). It made no sense to me then, nor does it now, lol. I will indeed leave that to my postproduction grandmaster ; )

I'm a poet as well as a songwriter, so it kind of freaks me out to strip the music off and present the lyrics as a bare poem... especially since they don't scan like a real poem should. But your comm is awesome, and one of the few places for fanpoetry.... so I thought I'd wedge the song in since songs and poems are at least double first cousins. :)

The guitar sound on Sam's song is from garageband, which seems to base some of its riffs on specific songs.... that one sounds very AC/DC to me, which seemed perfect. My initial conception of the song was a little more Breaking Benjamin, but it came out all right. :)

One or the other of these songs has been in my head all day, happily replacing my usual internal soundtrack of classic rock. In other words, really enjoyed listening to all of these! You have a beautiful voice that expresses the feelings behind the lyrics with an understated intensity. I hope you keep recording more songs!
