Bravo. I liked this very much indeed. Ever since that throwaway line in SJA, I've been intrigued by what Ace could possibly be getting up to as the head of a charity, and this is one of the very best fanfictional takes on it I've seen so far, made all the better by the inclusion of Jack too. Because of course he couldn't fail to get involved in something like that. Indeed, I love the idea that the Doctor has got so many contacts and friends on the ground, so to speak, in late 20th-early 21st century Earth - how could they not be in touch with each other and band together from time to time and help each other fight the good fight?
But this is all about the relationships the Doctor has with his friends, past and present, and the marks he leaves on them when they part ways. The same every time, and yet different every time, as you show here with Jack and Dorothy (although I get the feeling that as far as she's concerned her "real" name is really her public alias - she's still Ace at heart, just as the Doctor will always be "Professor" to her). I like her line about the Doctor being "more" to her than somebody she was in love with - I can't imagine Seven and Ace in a romantic relationship anyway, but that strikes me as exactly how she would see it, plus the idea that she is very much his protégé and in some sense anointed heir - really makes sense in the context of what we saw of them onscreen.
And Jack - poor Jack. I feel for that guy.
So yes, all in all, an excellent bit of work and thanks for taking part in the fanwork-a-thon. I hope very much that we will see more from you as the year goes on. :)
