Brisco County Junior!!!
Dec. 29th, 2009 03:38 pmY'all, I have been waiting since 1993 for this show on DVD. I am enjoying it SO MUCH.
The first episode is the two hour pilot, which is really fun and has all the wack elements that made us remember it so lovingly.
This DVD set is a MUST for fans of Bruce Campbell. because he SO rocks it.
The cameos alone are sterling.
For example, episode 2 has Robert Picardo -- the Holodoctor from Voyager, in a gleefully camp-western role.
Episode 4 has Denise Crosby, aka Tasha Yarr from nextgen, in a very cool role as the sheriff of an all-female town -- the blacksmiths of the town are Corey Everson (Atalanta from Xena) and her real life sister... plus the villain of it was Judson Scott, a minor dude I had a big crush on back in the day (he played Khan's trusted lieutenant, for one)....
Kim Manners directed ep 4 and it was really interesting to watch with this in mind. Brisco is a very straight up Western, with towns and scenery much like you would expect. There was just not that much for Mr. Manners to DO with it, was my impression --- leading me to really be that MUCH MORE impressed with my favorite show of all time, Supernatural -- which, purely for the direction and cinematography, can be a real work of art in my opinion.
WHY DOES RICH TEXT CONTINUALLY BLINK IN AND OUT? ARGH!!
