It Gets Better
Nov. 1st, 2010 10:43 pmIT GETS BETTER.
"Gay teens are turning to suicide as a way of escaping. If you want to tell them that life will get better, and you respect them for who they are, copy & paste this. Most of you won't, but let's see the 5% of you who will.
1 out of every 10 people are born Gay.* That means 1 of every 10 people are instantly put down, given bad labels, left alone, put in a minority and so much more, all for something they didn't ask for."
If you believe in civil rights for all -- live, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness -- stand up for our young people who only want to be who they are. Let them know it gets better, and let them know you're on their side.
*In recent census data, since 2000, 4% of US citizens identify themselves as lesbian, gay, or bisexual. The 1 in 10 figure represents a number first put forward by Kinsey in 1948, and that number continues to be upheld in studies with anonymity. Numbers of folks who have had some sexual interest in or contact with their same sex, but do not identify as LGBT, are probably even higher.

I copied this from
datenshiblue and added my own two cents. The campaign of youtube testimonials started by Dan Savage is amazing.
I'm just "boosting the signal" in my own little way.
