With season two, Supernatural takes a marked turn-- in s1, most women did not recur for more than one episode -- the exception is the demon, Meg. With s2, however, we meet three women who have big recurring roles -- Jo, Ellen, and the Crossroads Demon -- and also Tessa, who we meet again.  I've already written a couple of stories with Tessa in them (The Long Hall, about Dean, and The Night Weighs Heavy, about Sam), and about the Impala appearing as part of a Reaper (the Layla story), so I need more time on Tessa, and I think the Harvelle women and the CRD need pretty strong stories, since so many people have worked on them.  So, I'm breaking chronological order to present these two POEMS for two women of s2.  Thanks for reading!

Title: "rockslide into the grave"
Series: 42 Days of Metallicar and the Women of Supernatural #23
100  words. PG
Featuring: Angela Mason, the  Zombie, from 2.04 "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things"
warning: POEM!  edited 9-17-09 to a drabble

Angela's eyes glitter, beetles' wings.
Her scars have no hope of fading,
spidery words on parchment,
dead languages ill-revived.
Her thirst drains lives, but still she starves --
craves the love she knew, alive.
Her fury is a catapult,
hurling her body like a stone at
brothers who’ll survive (as she did not),
drive away scathed but determined,
willing to stake the past and leave it
for dead in a desecrated grave.
She’ll never know survivor’s sorrow,
mission followed to hollow end,
one short break on an endless journey,
a black car pulled over by the side of the road.

Title: "hearing the roar of the abyss"
Series: 42 Days of Metallicar and the Women of Supernatural #24
141  words. PG
Featuring: Tracy (Andy's girlfriend) from 2.05, "Simon Said"
warning: POEM!

Tracy looked into the abyss that night.
It roared at her in Weber's voice.
It roared at her in Andy's voice.
All her certainty was swallowed by that abyss.

She sees Andy talk to the policemen.
She wonders what he says,
and just how he says it.

She sees Andy talk to those two men --
and she is pretty sure that they're not lawyers --
they give him an admonishing look,
and she looks away before Andy glances over.

Under her blanket, there on the ambulance,
that's where she needs to be right now.
Not in the back of that sleek old car,

driving away from Andy at 85 miles per hour,
stopping any where five hundred miles away from here,
but a little voice says, "you can't run," and the abyss
inside her wonders in terror, "who said that?"
