With respect, to the author, who was only, trying to be helpful, by answering, a legitimate question, about the Buick 327 engine, this is the most, amazing, numbers of commas, I have ever seen, in one place. :D
The 327 cubic inch Chevrolet engine, was actually not a option, for a 1981 Buick Regal. They did, however, have some small block engine options, such as the 305 cubic inch, and, the 307 cubic inch engines. By 1981, General Motors, was using the V-6, in their intermediate-size cars, such as the Bucik Regal, the Buick Skylark, the Oldsmobile Omega, Chevrolet Citation, and, the Pontiac version, as well. By this time, the 327 cubic inch engine, was no longer used. Now, as to your question, about installing the 327 cubic inch engine, into a 1981 Buick Regal, yes, it can be done, though, the 1981 Buick regal, was not made for such a engine, and, you will have to do some modifications, to fit the engine into the Buick. For starters, the Chevrolet engine, has the starter, on one side of the engine, while the Buick engine, has the starter on the other side. This does also include the battery trays, as well. Also, the battery cables. But, you can get around this, by using longer battery cables, but, don't use any longer than you have to... The longer the cable, the more power it takes to start the engine, cause the power has to travel further, to get to the ignition. So, use only long enough cables to reach the battery. You will also have to change motor mounts, and, possibly the radiator, and, you will also have to check the transmission hook up, as well. And, the exhaust routing, and hook up. What I would do, if I were you, would be to start, by looking at how the engine is installed in the truck, and, make notes, on the motor mounting, radiator mounting, and so on. Then, compare this, with your Buick, and, you will see, what you will have to do, to make the 327 cubic engine fit into your 1981 Buick Regal. Like I said, it can be done, but, it will take time, and, patience. Good luck.
