I feel like a lot of Nine and Ten was left out of Eleven. If I were to fic about it, I'd say that Ten intentionally locked up the parts of himself that were so badly wounded by the events of the last part of his incarnation, so that he wouldn't be hurting still when he regenerated. Thus Eleven is much more cheerful overall, and much less passionate about his human connections. I have a story to tell with all that! :)
Thanks so much for reading and commenting on my poem. It was a weird prompt to work from, but actually very fun and satisfying once I got into it! It is cheering to think of Nine getting an inkling (in that semi-precog way the Doctor seems to have) that something wonderful is coming! :)
