Tennant reading "Shall I compare thee"

Here is David reading "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day."
It's always lovely to hear David's beautiful voice, but this performance seems a little flat. What is up with this? Why does he seem so tired and disengaged? He's usually so vibrant.... in this he's like Hamlet reading it at Ophelia's funeral. bzuh? o_O

Date: 2012-05-14 02:25 pm (UTC)I'm really unused to finding any flaw in David's work, so it really caught me by surprise. ... I think it's a flaw in the direction, and I'd be really curious to see the other actors who are reading in the series. The text turns color when the line is being read, so David is reading each line out, very slowly, and with pauses.... and you can see his eyes moving as he reads! Maybe because this is one of the sonnets my husband knows by heart, and so I associate it with a lot more emotion in the voice.
I guess I'm just used to David being so very alive. This was as though he'd just been filming The Minor Character and sat down and read this. ;P

I just hope they open this app for the Android market...and soon!

(and I do so love that icon!!! - being jealous of fingers is just wrong)

just listening though....
