This was for Porn Battle Fiery Fourteen, and it is at my new AO3 account, where my fic is slowly being archived.
It seems odd that I've never written for the Porn Battle before, but I guess I used to be more of a gen writer.

The Prompt was : Supernatural: Sam/Jody, desperate, honest, lazy. 

I also wanted to write this for themonkeytwin, who prompted me for some Sam/Jody a long time ago.

Oh man. What does it say that I read something like this these days and all I can think about is how unbearably sad I am for Sam? I mean, I am all for him having a night of slow fucking with Jody (and goodness knows I'm happy for that girl to have Sam to herself for a night), but ugh, the sheer amount of baggage he's carrying around. Well, they both are, really. But Saaaaaaaamm. Good grief.

So ... don't take my general sadface mood as an indication of the fic, though! (It's been a bit of a long week over here, which doesn't help.) I'm glad you gave him some relief, some time away from the angstgrind. I like the way you had them sort of give each other ... not permission, exactly, but allowance to set everything aside for the moment, I feel like that's something they both need – a partner, even just for the night, who understands that about each other. And it definitely hit the "desperate, honest, lazy" tone that you were also writing for, verrrry nice. I may have to earmark that. That combo needs to happen more often. *nods seriously*

thanks so much for the lovely comment. That was exactly what the story was meant to convey.

I found it interesting, writing it, that I had to make three tries at getting the fic started before I pared it down to just the essentials, because that's what Sam and Jody also have to do. Everything is the end of the world for them -- so I have to give them this one interlude and a very conscious decision to ignore the thoughts that try to intrude.
