HOLY SHIT.
Last things first -- I did not expect Dean to lose his shit like that. Wow!!!!
It has been one long downward slide for him ever since Purgatory. He is no longer everyone's moral compass, not at all. ):
He promised himself he would kill Gadreel and nothing else matters to him. I don't see how Cas and Sam could possibly hold him back tho!
Gadreel:
\o/ D:
I have been rooting for Gadreel and hoping for his redemption since day one of this season. I am so glad he came in from the cold and that he can finally see through Metatron. And so shocked and horrified that Dean sliced him open!!! DNW!!!!!! apparently that stands for "Dean --- NOOOOO! Winchester!!"
Did anyone else ever read Elric of Melnibone?? his cursed black rune sword ("Stormbringer"), that fed him the souls it drove him to slaughter? the orgasmic pleasure of it???? I really wanted Dean's eyes to roll back in his head, but I don't think you can put that kind of thing past the sensors. Trust me, his eyes were rolling back, the little shudder in his hips was there even if we didn't see it. D: D:
Abbadon. Sorry to see her go as a villain, but she was never in the league of Team Free Will. The thing is, she was too old school .... just the whole I am Demon, Fear My Hell, thing was never going to work on Sam, Dean, Cas and Crowley. They've all been there and done that. But she did get all the points for style.... and she was a way better villain than Eve, or Lilith. I was surprised that some flisters thought she was the primary big bad, when Metatron was clearly the main one....
Speaking of Metatron, wow, I really hate him. The actor is probably glad SPN is underwatched, People would be throwing rotten vegetables at him in the street. All my epithets for Metatron are low and personal. [conniving little weaselface]
Would it be worth it for Dean to lose an arm, just if he could take out Metatron???
I mean there are two things I was fearing for the finale, and I'm not spoiled so here they are:
1. Dean kills Sam. I mean, it's not called THE MARK OF CAIN for nothing!!!!!
2. Dean loses the arm. How else are they going to deactivate that thing? How would TV react to such a thing? Could the writers get there heads around it? Our veterans are coming home from the wars without limbs... it's certainly not like it doesn't happen... but could TV really handle it?
I guess I've been thinking about it because of Bucky, and my old boyfriend Krycek.... Could Dean Winchester lose his right arm??? Probably won't happen... but then again, they redeemed Gadreel, so my faith in the writers is ebbing upward...
s10 here we come.... what will it be???? what horrible MEATHOOKS do they have in store for us?

Date: 2014-05-14 06:24 pm (UTC)Show totally has me and my husband and son in a tight grip, which shows no sign of letting go.

Date: 2014-05-14 06:21 pm (UTC)If it can even be removed?
I mean, the mark is essentially designed to make Dean a Knight of Hell.... that's the third possibility, that he becomes Crowley's Right Hand.

Date: 2014-05-15 06:15 am (UTC)Honestly? I could have seen Dean doing something like that even WITHOUT the Mark of Cain. Because... KEVIN. :( :( :(
But overall I really enjoyed the episode, especially all the Destiel stuff and the Sastiel stuff :D :D :D Now if they can just kill Metatron and get that nasty thingie off Dean's arm, Dean and Sam can weep in each other's arms and love each other again, Cas can move into the bunker, and there can be happy lovely snuggles for all. :)
Maybe in season 14. :P

Date: 2014-05-15 06:34 pm (UTC)He totally breathed like he got pleasure from it! Also, thanks for mentioning the book, it sounds cool and I'm putting it on my to-read list. :) Apparently there's also a Blue Öyster Cult (wheee!) song based on it, "Black Blade". And it totally fits: "This sword here at my side don't act the way it should - Keeps calling me its master, but I feel like its slave."
I'm glad Gadreel gets a chance for redemption and I hope Dean will slice Metatron's smug weaselface off. But DNW surprise!meathooks! D: I don't know if Dean will kill Sam, turn into a demon, become Crowley's underling, become the King of Hell or what, but I bet that I'll be flailing furiously and going OMGEEEENOOOO, because things are not looking good for the Winchester boys.
