I thought for inspiration during the mini-hiatus I would pimp out my longish story that features Ruby, as played by Gen -- she is a hero in the story, which is kind of about Dean and Ruby cooperating to protect demonmessiah!Sammy as the war comes to a close -- also, it is a retelling of the fairy tale, The Twelve Dancing Princesses. Dancers at the Lake: it also has a killer soundtrack.

Dear Genevieve,
Thanks for your great work as Ruby on Supernatural Season 4, especially in the great Ruby episodes, "I Know What You Did Last Summer," "Heaven And Hell," and your brief but crucial appearance in "On The Head Of A Pin." I especially love the scenes where Ruby challenges Sam to get smart and powerful, where she takes part in the doublecross against Alistair, and where she feeds our Sammy the demon blood! You've taken the snarky demon to the next level, making her human and sympathetic. She still seems cunning and tricksy, and we don't trust her, but we WANT TO. We can really feel how important Sam is to the demon girl -- for good or ill. I wish the brothers could trust Ruby more (probably not in the cards) but Ruby really seems so much like Dean for Sam that it's hard not to love her. It must be hard to play a character with such veiled motivations and hidden backstory, but you've done a great job. I'm writing this before we know the outcome of s4, but hope to see you around as Ruby again next season! Here's some love to you from the wacky fans of Supernatural -- MWAH!

Date: 2009-04-06 05:54 pm (UTC)And gosh, I am so glad you reminded me about Dancers at the Lake, because I wanted to read that but I believe you posted it when I had the flu and it must have just slipped my mind! I have added it to my list of fic to read while I have a break :D *is excited*
I’ve only written one piece of Ruby fanfiction so far, but I have a feeling your story will inspire more :)
