First off, if anyone would like a Valentine fic, please let me know!
Fandoms: I'm currently focused on MCU and SPN, but I might be able to do others
Ratings: Any, from friendship to Kissing on up
I hope all of you have come through the Blizzard all right. Here it is Thursday, and my son is still not back in school, but most folks have returned to work. There is still plenty of snow everywhere, but the roads are mostly clear and we've had two days above freezing. I made chili and lasagna in preparation for the blizzard, and both have been very tasty -- not even sick of them yet! The only hard part is finding good places to walk with the little dog. Most of our sidewalks are still under snow so you have to walk in the street, which isn't ideal.
I've been watching a lot of TV! I watched the first two eps of XFiles. I was a huge fan of Mulder and Scully back in the day, and it is pretty weird to see Mulder still trying to get at the truth which continually eludes him. the Xfiles were the direct antecedent of Supernatural, and in comparison, Sam and Dean always figure out the monster and solve the problem by the end of the ep, which Mulder never does. Even the Big Bads, the Winchesters usually manage to find some closure eventually. Mulder is now old and depressed; Scully is doing good work but is also sad and tired. It didn't work out for them, which is sad. But I am happy they got six eps!! I still haven't been able to figure out whether Twin Peaks is go on Showtime or not. ....
I am still enjoying Supernatural. It feels like the boys are settling in a little with each other. Their conversation last night about Sam's "failure" to look for Dean, and Dean's forgiveness, was a big step forward for them..... I still think it's wrong to even call it a failure, with Sam having so few resources after the Leviathan..... but that's me. I've come a long way from when Sam was a callow youth. I am really sorry to see the last of Rowena. Argh, SPN loves to kill people off, it is disappointing. But I'm really looking forward to next week!!!!
I've been very happy with Agent Carter in LA, but I miss Angie. I'm not sure about the upped romantic tension between her and Sousa and between her and Wilkes. I like the idea of Whitney Frost -- clearly a reference to Hedy Lamarr, who was a famous actress and also inventor. The actress who played Whitney looked so familiar -- she is Amelia Novak. I wouldn't have remembered that without imdb. Wilkes also looked super familiar, but I guess it is just because he is very handsome. :P I really like how the show doesn't try to gloss over social issues of the 1940s... it makes the show better I think. Thompson is playing a dangerous game!!! I really like Jarvis training to be a better fighter. And Peggy at the punching bag was SUPER HOT.
Last night I rewatched the Winter Soldier. I love that movie so much. Every so often I give in and watch it again. I basically know it by heart... but Steve and Bucky and Natasha and Sam are such fantastic characters. I am on tenterhooks until May 6. !!! I am dressing as Bucky for the premiere of course. I already have my Red Henley etc. :)
cheers and hugs to all!
