I've seen a lot of folks talk about Shuri ascending the throne, rather than casting a new actor as T'Challa. I have no idea where the MCU is going next. But losing Chadwick Boseman is a devastating loss to so many people, coming so suddenly and at such a bad time, and to find out he was being so brave for so long seems to increase the tragedy. ):
My action figures wanted to give a tribute to T'Challa, and that becomes my tribute to the Actor. It may be a weird mirror, but heartfelt.
I hope they will pass the Panther to Shuri, that would be a fitting succession, and show respect for Chadwick's T'challa. The more I read about Boseman the more impressed I am with him as a person as well as an actor. It's so heart breaking to have lost him like this.
I fully agree. Plus I love the idea of putting Shuri at the helm of Wakanda, with such an amazing cabinet of women advisors -- Nakia, Okoye, and Ramonda-- in addition to all the other leaders of Wakanda.
aw, this is lovely. when i heard chadwick had died, my first thought was "but he was so young!" and the second was "well, i guess there won't be a black panther 2...." i can't imagine they'd replace him as t'challa, but i don't know how i feel about passing the torch to shuri either. but that would be something to see, the scientist taking the reins of state after her brother's passing.
I was very shocked at the news. And then, amazed to learn that he was fighting his illness for a long time.
I hope we will get to see more of the Wakandans at some point. I think the Winter Soldier tv show will start soon, so maybe they will visit Wakanda.... so many amazing characters there.
