SEVEN THINGS MEME
Feb. 11th, 2008 09:27 pmList seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
Tag seven people to do the same.
Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to do it" OR ELSE YOU FAIL.

FIRST OF ALL, I won't be pushed around by a meme! But in the spirit of things I'll "tag" a few folks: ladyjanelly, susannaheanes, cormallen, bitchandjerk, stoney321. Of course I'm not sure what "tag" entails.... >:)
1. When I go into my library's used book room I compulsively reshelve everything till it satisfies my expectations. Also, I once spent 45 minutes reorganizing a bin of cloth napkins at a Marshalls.
2. I have two pocketknives that were gifts from my dad. One is for everyday: the Explorer Swiss Army Knife by Victorinox. It is the best because it has the philips head not sticking out where the cork screw is, but like a regular blade. Also it has a can opener and scissors, and I keep an eyeglasses repair screwdriver in the corkscrew. It has a dogtag for return, which worked when I left it a copyplace once. My other knife, not for everyday, is a locking 3 1/2 inch Buck knife. This classic knife is also owned by Sam Winchester -- it is the knife he buries John's dogtags with at Mary's grave; also the one Jared can't use to open the window. It is a hunting knife and I have used it for its intended purpose; also, I was admitted into the White House with it many years ago (the secret service guy just told me "not to brandish it" -- how times have changed!)
3. I rescued my rabbit from out-of-doors. He looks like a wild rabbit but is chinchilla-patterned (ie. silver). He is named Lopez (after a genetically modified rabbit from a book by S. Andrew Swann). He is 6 years old, and has been an uncaged house rabbit since we moved into our town house. Getting to know a rabbit has been a wonderful and eye-opening experience. He has so much personality and is such a joy to have around!
4. I have a curse that has to do with keys. For example, yesterday I tried to turn the key to start my car for about five minutes but coudn't turn it. The wheel was in lock position, and I was wiggling it, and taking the keys in and out, and starting over. So finally I got my 7 year old to climb out of his booster seat in the back and turn the key. It turned on his first try.
5. I haven't cut my hair in 21 years. It hangs almost to my knees.
6. I developed hypertension all of a sudden at the age of 39. It is genetic. I exercise regularly, am not greatly overweight (I admit to being a bit on the stout side!) It went from normal to really high in about 4 months. So the moral is, monitor your blood pressure.
7. In my face one of my eyes is just slightly higher than the other. It turns out this trait can be seen in the portrait of my dad's grandmother's grandfather. (That's five generations back!) On the other side, my mom's grand-dad's mother was the child of double first cousins --- a fact I just recently learned! She was such an amazing person that people still tell stories about her fiery spirit over 100 years later!
