2009 fic roundup meme
Jan. 6th, 2010 09:32 pmWhat is my most popular story?
wincest, as you might have guessed “between supposed lovers” – but I do actually like that story a lot.
Did I take any writing risks this year? What did I learn from them?
For me, every piece of fiction is such a huge risk. But I had never written this explicitly before, so that felt like a big risk.
Do I have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
My goal for 2010 is to do more personal writing: journalling, poetry, and songwriting, not fanfic. However, I do want to write all the women of spn, since doing the first two seasons was so fun. There is also the Stage Adaptation of Frankenstein..... :P
From my past year of writing, what was...
My Best Story:
I think that actually, The Long Hall is my best story of the year. But I also have a big fondness for “Kat and the Case of the Cursed Campground,” because of the whole backstory being so fun, and rather personal (even though it throws off the pacing a little). :)
Story Most Underappreciated by the Universe:
The final wincest sequel, "Give you both night and day" – after I sweated blood – was like, pure crickets.
Most Fun:
The Fanonization of the Apostle Sherri
Most Disappointing:
Because I was working on a deadline with my women of spn stories, there are one or two there that are a little lackluster... or, that I just really did not delve any deeper into the character. But overall I am pleased with the progress I’ve made this year in terms of plotting, pacing, dialogue, and especially character development.
Most Sexy:
between supposed lovers, for my mind, is even sexier than its NC-17 sequels.
Story that made me cry
my drabble about Dean and the car. weep!
Story with the sweetest moment
This year's theme and the story that demonstrates it most
this year’s theme was Women of Spn. So many of my Women of SPN stories really took me deep into the women’s heads in ways I never expected – but especially:
Jenny’s conversation with Missouri
Emily the former apple princess gets on with her life
Michael and Asher's mom phones Dean with some questions
"Bobby meets the Reaper"
Lily will get out of these woods or die trying
Mara Daniels, "The first and second letters of Mara to the Midwesters"
Most Unintentionally Telling:
after MUCH consideration, I think the most “telling” story about me is probably “Pillar of Light,” my Ruby/God story. I am totally the girl who in all seriousness pairs up Ruby and God. :) I also realized later that “pillar of light” is a phrase from one of my favorite ballads, “I am Stretched on Your Grave.”

Hmmm... I know there was something else, but I forget now. I thinks I must now take my little ADD brain to bed.
