I have really enjoyed the [livejournal.com profile] doctor_rose_fix  Summer '11 Fixathon,
If anyone has a Nine/Rose prompt, please do let me know.  I love prompts!

First short piece: a drabble (100 words).
Title:  All he left behind
rating:  G
pairing: Rose/Eleven
prompt:  [livejournal.com profile] emmymik  asked for "Eleven/Rose sometime between Doomsday and the Stolen Earth"
spoilers: none beyond s4

“Rose, calm down and think. You know I regenerate -- it’s still me-- I live! I’m gonna live on, maybe forever!”

Rose searched the unfamiliar face. She looked around at the strange, new Tardis.

Too much was new. So much was missing.

“I shouldn’t be here,” she mumbled. Her hands, unheld, clenched into empty fists.

“It’ll be all right, okay? I’m fine, you’re fine.” He laid a cool hand gently against her upper arm, and Rose cringed away.

Tears blurred her vision. “I’m sorry,” she said.

And Rose ran -- away -- from the Doctor, who watched her go.

###
Second short piece: a Poem
title: An Augury from Old High Gallifreyan
(read by Nine as he ran through someone's back garden)
spoilers: none
rating: g
pairing: future Nine/Rose
prompt: [livejournal.com profile] megans_writing  left a picture of some items on a grill and asked for any Doctor/Rose. In my poem, Nine "reads" the items on the grill:  four shrimp on a skewer, an ear of corn, a piece of chicken breast, and a plump red fish on two lemon slices.

One instance reminds you of the one before it.
The first instance.
The following instance.
Another. All threaded through
by monotonous similarity.

And then, the tiniest moments,
all clustered together
in their neat rows, ragged ends escaping,
bundled up, but always
their profusion trails off into the embers.

Then there’s the heart of the matter,
seared, lined with scars, inscrutable now.
You don’t know what to make of it.
Is it worth it to gnaw at the dried out fibers
for a hint of nourishment, a remembrance of savor?

At last there shines the glittering jewel,
succulent reward for endurance.
Maybe you're blind by now, a little sour,
but hooked from the tumult of the depths
and traded for a life -- if that’s it --

you’ll take it.

Ah, the first one hurts (in a good way), because I absolutely believe that Rose would have reacted just like that (at least initially) based on what she says in The Stolen Earth. Sadly, the Doctor's not exactly the type to go after her either. :(

Can't quite bring myself to read the poem, though, sorry. Just the mention of poetry freezes my brain - high school made reading it seem like too much of a chore, I think. *shakes head at self*

thanks very much for your comment! Poor Rose, I think Eleven would be a dreadful shock if you'd fallen in love with Nine. D: (on his own, he's fine enough...)

how funny about poems. :) I am a poet by training (I have an MFA) so obvs. I love poems very much. Perhaps if you think of them as broken up drabbles? the two forms have a TON in common! :D
