This weekend, guess what I was STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO?  ALMOST RIGHT!  the 1968 Chevy Impala two door.
I thought my heart was going to fly out of my chest.  The sound of it!   SQUEEEEEEEEEE!  Just, I was RIGHT THERE NEXT TO AN IMPALA.  RUMRUMRUMRUMRUMRUMRUMRUM!  It was so beautifully restored.  I made a fool of myself in front of all my RL friends, who DO NOT UNDERSTAND CLASSIC CARS. They drive, like, a PRIUS, and NOT BECAUSE AN ANGEL MADE THEM.  Which, is actually a good thing, my own car gets 42 highway, but IMPAAAALAAAAAAA!!!!    tears of midlife envy and heavy heartfelt sighs.

IN OTHER NEWS, I completed my kamikaze remix, which features Ellen! and Jo! and I am fairly pleased with it.  Kamikaze Remix Reveals will be on Sept. 12.   It is the unrevealed WOMEN OF SUPERNATURAL story #36!  :)

So Here are four more Women of SPN.  I only have one or two more to go from Season Two -- YAY!

#37. “Hell of a PA.” PG *Crack* 700 words. feat. Tara Benchley, from 2.18, Hollywood Babylon.
warning: RPF.  No real actors were embarrassed by the making of this fic. ETA: Also?  I forgot to include the Impala (she wasn't in the episode either!)
A guy like that was one in a million. )

#38. “Dream Come True.” PG, 1400 words, feat. Carmen from 2.20, What Is and What Should Never Be
Dream come true. )

#39. "Into the Woods." 481 words, PG13. feat.  Lily, from 2.21, All Hell Breaks Loose Part One. Lily is sick of strangers and their opinions. )

At 42 Days of Metallicar, [profile] alias_chick  was hoping someone would write a song. So I did.

It's a little bit pensive -- but in my head, it is Dean singing to Baby when no one is listening...  a kind of slow, bluesy, Skynyrd song, with a little Paul Rodgers at the end.

Dean's Song for Baby

This is my first try at recording one of my songs with Garage Band--please forgive if it's a little wobbly. There's not even a visible mic on my iMac -- I'm just sitting there in my den, singing randomly at my computer (which you can hear, humming in the background like crickets).   I hope the download link works!  It does!

TITLE: "angels fall like rain"

PAIRING, RATING:  This piece is Gen, but it is about Dean and Castiel.

WARNINGS:  not so much, except it is written as a prose poem and does not divide evenly into 100 word chunks  :)  angst, light literary allusion, heavy use of consonants.

SPOILERS:  for situation through 4.20

NOTES: This fic is for [livejournal.com profile] roguebitch , who bit when I offered the Demand a Drabble meme.  However, this Fic is Not a Drabble.  It is an experimental prose/poem form. The title is from "Ghost in You" by Psychedelic Furs, a beautiful, serene, and celestial song, very different from this angsty fic. Thanks Cassie! hope you like it!!

COMMENTS:  strongly desired -- also, Demand a Drabble!

DISCLAIMER:  do not own; no money made; this is a transformative work.

In the garish light of the quickstop, you feed sixteen gallons into the old girl. Rain falls down through the blackness.  All the dust has settled, washed down the gutters.

Back at the wheel, headlights, the swarp of the wipers, smell of old leather, mended and cleaned for forty years now. Pasted against the passenger glass, your brother is no less cordoned off asleep than when he is looking you right in the face.

Your stomach burns: too much caffeine, too much jerky; ache in the neck; grit between the teeth.

You pass through, drive through the storm, exhalation, release.

So here's what I found for the Supernatural Quote Meme, but of course, since this is MY journal, it's meta.

These are the final stage directions from Kripke's earliest draft of the Pilot:

"The brothers. Emerging into the dusty Western sunlight. They’re lit golden. Even heroic. Their noble Chevy Impala awaits. They climb into the car.  Doors slam. Key turns. Exhaust smokes. Tires spin. And the Impala hits the road heading east. Into the rising sun. Into the heart of America.   The OPEN ROAD rushing up to meet us, as we motor down it. Wide open and infinite--"

ain't it grand?

His first vision of the Pilot had a lot of elements missing, but as you can see here the Impala was still key!

Thanks to missyjack, who posted the pdf at http://www.scribd.com/doc/886560/Earliest-Pilot-draft: it was originally published as a DVD extra for season one.

This came to me in my sleep.  Then deirdre_c posted a story about Sam and Dean and the Impala -- so I had to actually write this down!  Anyways,  it is part crack, part pastiche, part poem.  Sorry!
